Meeting on Oct 16, 2006
The 50th Reunion for the Class of 1958 will be on August 2, 2008. The location will be....(drum roll)...Northbrook Hilton ("Allgauer's). The members of the reunion effort aplauded the Event Planning Committee and Roberta Anders was given the directive to proceed with a contract and a deposit. By the way, rooms will be $99.00 per night at the hotel for the event.
The DJ/MC was also selected; Mobile Music (Cary Smolensky Productions).
Jerry Serlin is beginning research into the development of a DVD to be made available at the reunion...it would scope the life and times of 1954 to 1958.
Due to loads and availability, yours truely...Julius Rothschild, has ended up as the treasurer for the organization. The attendees all contributed $100 each to fund the various deposits and expenses that are to be incurred over the next few years. If you would like to contribute in the near term, checks should be made out to "The Rothschild Alumni" and sent to Julius Rothschild, NWSA, PO Box 921, Arlington Heights, Il 60006 . Early contributors/donors will receive some minimal discount for the reunion.
Several other events such as a tour of the "old Country by bus", a picnic, etc. are being considered and you will be informed when we know what might be available.
Meeting Notes of May 22
Meeting was held May 22 at What's Cooking in Northbrook.
After some visiting, the meeting was called to order and Jules Rothschild took charge.
It was decided that committees had to be set up for the planning and implementation of the reunion. Suggestion was for 2 people to co-chair each position.
Barbara Dubman and Harvey Bass will oversee all of the committees for the event.
Treasurer-keeping track of expenses and ultimately in charge of monies coming in will be Barbara Fleischman and Jerry Serlin.
The Event Planning committee will be Rochelle Fishman, Roberta Krolick, Drora Wainer, Zena Singer, Bonny Gaffen and Bill McNulty.
Membership-location of alumni will be Caryl Steinberg, Mickey Lambert and Merle Rothschild.
Sarel Weiss, Janet Jacobson, Sharon Neiman will put together name tags and other things needed for meetings and ultimately for the event.
Zena Singer will be secretary for the meetings.
Next meeting is scheduled for August 7 at Tonelli's in Northbrook.
